More family time!

Yesterday we thought we'd try out a different beach along this new coast line. It took roughly three hours to get there but it was fun to explore the area. It was a beautiful day to be outside. Among our new sights were touring and old army fort, playing in the sand, and seeing a famous lighthouse :) Twas a great day!

Me and my boy!

Yay, for soft sand hills :)

Daddy, this is fun :)

I found something...

This was the entertainment part of our dinner and a show tonight. It cracks me up when I watch it, so I thought I'd share it...

Scott has been getting off early this week, so we have had a chance to hand out even more and go do some fun things as a family...Today we took off for an afternoon at the beach, it was cloudy here so I brought my coat, but as we got closer to the coast, it was sunnier and warmer. Needless to say it was a great day for a light sweatshirt. We had a great time, it was the first time Logan had been down to an actual beach of the Atlantic. He was very excited! when we got there he ran down to the water smiling, but when the waves came in he quickly ran the other direction with a frightened look. He ran as far as he could (to the sand hills) as fast as he could and would not get any closer! after a while he warmed up and moved his way to the roaring waves. He loved chasing the birds and trying to throw shells in the water twenty feet away :) He even got to touch a little shark someone caught on the pier...After a few more trip there i'm sure he'll be more used to it and love playing in the sand and getting a little wet :) I can't wait! Here are a few pictures.

The last few weeks...

Well we made it, our move to North Carolina was successful! We are here and enjoying our new place. The move started off with Scott driving the u-haul for four long days with his buddy kaylan. Kaylan wasn't feeling to good for most of the trip but it was good to have him along for company and some shared driving. They arrived on Wednesday just hours before Alicia (Karlan's wife and a good friend), Logan and I flew in. They were able to get the keys before they picked us up at the airport so we were able to unpack the truck that night :) It felt good to finally be unloading boxes into our long awaited new place.

That first weekend we had a great time just hanging out with Kaylan and Alicia, unpacking and touring the area. It was perfect to have some friends down here with us, it made the move a little easier! (it was also great to have Alicia with me on the long flight here with Logan; I was a little stressed out about, it went really well)

Before thanksgiving, Scott decided Logan needed a hair cut :) Logan sat on daddy's lap eating with the cape around his neck happily eating starbursts. But the moment the scissors touched his head his mood took a quick turn for the worse. He was not happy! After the short cut was done, I picked up a few of his little curls and we left. Once out of the shop I cried, not because it was his first hair cut, but because the front wasn't straight, and I didn't get the long curl I wanted to save. It was an experience! but now he looks so cute and big boyish :)
Thanksgiving was a great day. It was a little different this year with not spending time with family and all, but we were able to spend the day with Jan and her family. Jan has been a good friend since my bible school days, and I am so excited that we live so much closer now. What a blessing...Logan had fun with little Matthew, running around outside, and even managing to close him self in the empty fireplace and hide. Needless to say, he came out very sooty and needed a change of clothes right away, it was funny :)
The day after thanksgiving while we were still at Jan's we all went out together and cut down our Christmas trees! It was a lovely day! After the drive up (twenty miles of snake like roads up the mountain, and throwing up on the side of the road) The day went really well :) after much thought and debate, we both found our perfect trees, we then cut them down, took a hay ride back to the bottom of the hill, then roasted marsh mellows and drank hot chocolate. Loveliness :)
More to come, I still have to put up some pictures of the new place, it's just not quite picture worthy yet...
