Happy Veterans day!
Thank you to those of you out there who have been a part of serving this country. Behind every soldier out there could be , a loving family, supportive wife, encouraging friend, a little child who is eager to send a post card to a hero. Thank you most of all to those who have put their lives on the line, sacrificed there live for this country, and those who have just begun and are training to become fully equipped to protect what they hold dear and everything it stands for. We so easily forget that it was those men and women who fought for the people of this country and the freedoms we have today, and who continue to fight to keep what we so easily take for granted.
There are a lot of different view points out there on the issue of war, but regardless of what you do or don't think about it, take a second to say a thank you, send a note card, or buy and old veteran a cup of coffee. A few years back, just after Scott got back from his experience with the war he received a veterans day card from from his good friend Kelly. It was at that point; when I saw how special it was to him to have had someone thank him for what he did, that i realized how important it is to take a little extra time and show that appreciation to him and to others, some who have maybe never been given that.
"People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf"-George Orwell
it's a little strong, but it gets the points across, and those men need to be thanked...
