Happy Halloween

As usual, I procrastinated on all of my Halloween ideas. I was going to use my free time today to go and get Logan's costume; I know, last minute, things probably won't even be available, but if they are at least they'd be cheaper :) O well that probably won't matter now, I have a fairly sick boy who wouldn't even want to put on a costume let alone go shopping for it :( So to all you out there who have cute dressed up kids, a great costume yourself and fun parties to attend, enjoy yourselves and have a...

play dates and good weather...

What a blessing it has been to have such beautiful fall weather as of late. We have enjoyed taking advantage of playing outside as often as we can. This last week we have had several fun days, they range from drawing, shoes, play dates and outdoor exploring. Here is a look at some of them...He loves being creative on his eisel and also playing while making clinking sounds in my metalic purple shoes...

We also enjoyed some good play date time with little Finley and mamma Justyn, both little ones loved giving hugs...

The great sunny outdoors...

next week

Scott comes home a day next week! Please pray that he finishes strong and healthy. He'll be completing a fourteen day course of intense physical challenges, little sleep and much more. I have not been able to talk to him at all so I can only pray he stays encouraged and motivated...
thanks for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers these last few months, moving day is really only a little more than a week away :)

little laughs

These last six months have been a little tough in our household. With Scott being gone I have been single parenting Logan. It's a hard job and exhausting. There have been many lonely days, tearful moments, feeling fragile and breakable, and more then enough emotional breakdowns. It's hard not to have scott home every night to give me some relief, encouragement, back-up, be an ear for listening, a mind to bounce ideas of off, and to give a much needed hug and affection (thanks for reading my emotional venting). On the bright side, there are little things that happen that make some days more bearable. These come from my very adorable and biggest fan, Logan. Little boys are always so good at making there mommas laugh :) Logan has been a big part of keeping a smile on my face.

Here are a few recent funny things.......

The other morning after getting Logan up for the day, I was lounging on the couch (still tired). Logan come running up to me, after looking at my face with a puzzled look he pointed to a spot on my chin; he was looking at some whit stuff left over from a mask I applied the night before, he then ran to the bathroom and got a piece of toilet paper, came back and rubbed my chin, then he took it and put it in the toilet. He was quite proud of himself for cleaning my face :)

I was in the bathroom putting my make up on and I heard this clinking sound, I looked down and saw Logan walking into the room with a grin on his face and two different pairs of shoes on his feet! These were not ordinary shoes, they were mine. One was an open toed wedge heal, and the other was a pointed kitten heal. I must say he looked very proud of himself, as if he accomplished something spectacular:) I could not help but laugh, it looked especially funny with his green footed sleeper on :)
The dreaded one nap a day has finally arrived at our house. Logan has decided that he'll no longer give me my two two hour segments of time to myself a day. Since he won't sleep for his morning nap, and can't make it in one happy piece from wake up time till the afternoon nap, he is however content to sit in his crib and read books for a mid morning quiet time :) After a bit of fussiness there was a suspicious quietness coming from beyond the closed door. I let it be for bit thinking that he had just settled down, then I heard a piece of plastic being fingered. I walked into the room and there stood my smiling culprit. As I entered I smelled cucumbers, I looked down and there strewn all over the floor was a whole package of wipes. I left the new packages of refill wipes on the changing table next to the crib, Logan was able to reach them and then pulled them all out almost one by one. It took a little while to fold them all back up to be used.

I woke up this morning to the sound of "Maaaaaaama...mmmmmmaammmmaaa" I looked up to see Logan sitting in his crib with a blanket over his head. When he heard me moving he pulled the blanket off and smiling and giggling...

There are so many more, but these were on the top of my mind and the most recent, hope they put a smile on your face too.......

Even though Logan has only seen Scott (daddy) twice in almost six months, he shows his memory of him more and more as time goes on :) I am glad for that, I was a bit fearful Logan would begin to forget who his daddy was.
Since May I have been showing Logan pictures of Scott, and short video clips on the computer he made before he left. He loves the video clips, he'll get up in the morning and head for the computer, point and whine until I sit there with him and play daddy :) it's so cute! other times he'll pick up my phone, open it, point the the picture of Scott and smile, then pretend he's talking, and with the phone up to his ear say "dadadada" while walking around with a giant smile.
He has also developed a good awareness of picking him out in photos, he'll go up to one and say "daaaaad da...." or "daaaaaaadeeeee" then he'll carry it around with him. The other day I walked outside and saw him sitting on the deck intently staring at a picture of Scott, seeing these little things are always encouraging for me!
Here's a little clip of what it looked like....

Car seats and box forts...

Due to being rear ended a few weeks ago, and the speed of the car coming at us, I had to replace Logan's car seat (not a pleasant way to spend money) . I took this opportunity to have a little fun :) so I went with the cowmooflauge print. I know it's a bit wild, but I'm always playing it safe with solid/neutral colors and I wanted to step out of the box and be a bit different. Scott's not sure what he thinks of it yet, but hopefully he'll warm up to it...When I got it out of the box Logan immediately sat in it and said "mooooo" it made me laugh, at least he likes it :)

After unpacking it he soon figured out the car seat was not the only new thing around. He quickly investigated the big card board box it came in. The whole morning he's gone in and out with different toys, hiding them in his new fort, and playing peak a boo out of the sides...

How Sweet!!!

Just shortly after I got home this afternoon there was a knock at my door. I answered it and standing in front of me was a delivery man holding a box of flowers! I was so excited! I took them upstairs and quickly opened the box to look. There inside was beautiful bouquet of 18 red roses with a sweet card Scott :)

I have never had flowers delivered to me, but have always secretly hope Scott would think of it :) and he did.....I love him so much!!!

I'm leaving tonight to go see him for the weekend, so i'll be back on Monday :)
