Friends...

After a late night talk with a dear friend of mine I was reminded how special and important it is to have a close friend. Friends are what help you get through life's hard times, and are there to celebrate during the good ones. I have been so thankful for those God brought into my life, from my mom, to sisters, to girlfriends, to a husband, each one has played a big part in who I am today, they have stuck with me through the thick and thin and because of that our bonds are so much stronger. I am so blessed to have each one be a part of my life. There is so much more I could say, but here are some quotes that I really like...
"God, thank you for knowing our needs and giving us what you know is best, and thank you for orchestrating life's circumstances in ways that strengthen those ties..."
-Melissa
Friendship is the melody and fragrance of life.
-Anonymous
A friend is someone who takes me for who I am.
-Henry David Thoreau
I did not find my friends; the good Lord gave them to me.
-Ralph Waldo Emerson
As iron sharpens iron, so as a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.
-Proverbs 27:17
The ornaments of a house are the friends that frequent it.
-Ralph Waldo Emerson
Real friendship is shown in times of trouble; prosperity is full of friends.
-Euripides
A single rose can be my garden...
a single friend, my world.

This Years Version Of Camping

As a family, plus one (Joanna's special man, Torger) we were able to take time out of our busy lives and spend a few days laughing, relaxing, playing games, hiking, eating great food, making s'mores, swimming, and just having a great time together.
We stayed over in Wenatchee on a small piece of property owned by some friends. Even though there was a small trailer, we stayed out in tents to make the most of the camping idea :) With two small kiddo's, it was the perfect place to stay. Despite all the many bug bites, ( i counted 19 on me) and Logan getting sick the first day and throwing up all over me, the biggest bummer was that they put the no campfire signs up the day we arrived :( what is camping with out a fire? so we improvised and melted the s'mores in the oven, I have to say, there were really good...

The family... Mom, Amanda, Ben with Abigail, Torger, Joanna, me with Logan
On a hike to a beautiful lake.
It was so great watching Logan have a fun time, this is such a big boy look :) My little guy is growing up so fast...
We were able to enjoy the pool at the club house. Logan didn't like it very much at first, but by the second day warmed up to it. The water was so warm and so refreshing to swim in on the hot days...
Such a cute family, I loved being able to spend a few days with my precious niece, she's so fun!
This was the first camping trip without Scott :( it was a bummer not be able to share the fun with him. he was really missed.
Logan loves running all over, it was hard to keep him in one spot for two long :)
The two little sweet hearts... This is only one of the MANY pictures of them!

Happy Forth of July!

Last year we were able to spend the day at LBC with some friends. Logan, only five months old, slept through the fireworks in his Bijorn completely undisturbed. This year we were able to have a little more fun with him :). We spent the evening on a beautiful lake with family and some friends from church. It was a lovely piece of lakefront property, with a ton of space for Logan to run around. With his speed and sly movement I was slightly fearful that he could escape and slip into the water unnoticed, and with that he had several pairs of eyes on him at all times!
After some great food, boat ride, a bon fire, and good fellowship, it was time for the show to begin... We had prime seating and were able to see all the fireworks being set off around the lake. They were beautiful and seemed to last forever :) Logan loved seeing all the colors, he pointed with many oohs and aaahs at all the bangs and crackles. He seemed to really enjoy them, and he especially loved setting off his own sparkler... We had a wonderful day and look forward to more fun next year...

Here is my precious Logan giving me kisses... baby kisses are the sweetest thing!

Logan had a great time playing with the sparklers :) with a very nervous Grandpa in the back ground Logan made several attempts to grab the sparkles, with much restraint we kept him safe!

Lightening strikes...

Although it may sound childish, I have always had a mild fear of the dark, especially when I am alone. Tonight was no exception, after being aware of a severe thunder storm warning in the area I was not all that excited to go to bed. After watching several bolts of lightening cross the sky and hearing mild thunder in the distance, I attempted to get some sleep. Several hours later, after many glances at the clock, my body was to tense to go back to sleep. I was fearful of waking up to an enormous crack of thunder and being gripped by my fear in the midst of the noise. I got up, turned the light on, and after surfing the web and listening to Leave It To Beaver re-runs in the background, I decided to have some fun and create my own blog. And so here it begins, an insight to my life and the wonderful people who keep me going...........
